Location: Shoreditch, East London
We are looking for a data engineer who will look after, extend and improve our client’s core data pipeline tracking millions of events per hour and integrating some of the largest data sources of web user data in the planet. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of data tasks, from implementing ETL pipelines to designing database schemas and enabling business intelligence reporting. You will also have the opportunity to use a broad set of data technologies, including scripting in Python, Apache Pig, Amazon RDS and Redshift.

This role will suit someone who:

You must have the following skills:
- Experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience developing in Python.
- Experience with *nix-like systems, scripting and command-line tools.
- Experience with distributed source control systems, preferably GIT.
Also good to have:
- Experience with Big Data columnar stores, such as Amazon Redshift.
- Knowledge of data warehouse design principles.
- Experience processing data with Python using libraries such as Pandas and Numpy.
- Experience with Big Data platforms, such as Hadoop and Spark.
- Agile software development (Scrum/Kanban)
- Pull request and code review processes. Pair programming. Clean code. Testing
(TDD/BDD).
- Knowledge of JVM languages such as Java or Scala.
- A Computer Science Degree, or equivalent.
- Any personal/open-source project we can take a look at.
